At Wellington Lodge, due to our split mating program, we have several lines of steers available for sale throughout the year. Generally the lots are available in B-double sized loads. We try to turn off the steers at 400+ kg at an age somewhere between 15 and 18 months.
Wellington Lodge steers all meet the following criteria:
- All steers are sired by either Te Mania's top semen sires at the time of joining or by Te Mania's top young progeny test bulls. This provides a mix of proven performance genetics with the most modern genetics available.
- Emphasis is placed on MARBLING and carcase data reveals that Wellington Lodge steers are performing very well when it comes to marbling.
- All steers are YARD WEANED and feedlot BUNKER TRAINED.
- Steers are MSA, EU, and CAAB eligible.
- All steers are scanned for P8 fat, Rib fat, EMA and IMF%.
